How to Discuss Video Games

A few quick notes:
I'll be offerring Infini-Tees again come November, so get your photos ready.
My third book, “The Curse of the Masking-Tape Mummy” officially comes out in March, but my publisher will have copies available for delivery before Christmas. You can pre-order it now! If you do, you’ll be entered into a contest, the prize of which is to appear in a Basic Instructions comic, probably insulting Rick (Note: contest not open to Rick).
Lastly, I'm quite pleased that I ran this comic when I did. My opinion has not changed. I just wish things had worked out closer to how my last panel suggested.

Stop mouthing off to your mommy Scott!!!
lol....
shamefully i have a wii.....
I stay quiet in video game conversations :-(
Detachment and plausible deniability.
Isn't that the stuff of real life, really? Like, uh, *cough*politics in the Western world*cough*?
Yeah, yeah. I own a Wii. If they'd crack down on the @#$% shovelware for the console it'd be better.
Also, the Wii is much better when modded. Nothing is quite as satisfying as beating "Sonic the Hedgehog" to death with Darth Vader.
Scott is a video game elitist?!
And yet I'll still read his comics...
I would be happy buying an infini-tee of Scott. I could use a second t-shirt.
Consoles are OK, but you can't beat a good PC for gaming. Plus the porn is better, console porn just seems wrong.
I can't help but candidly state that how someone with what I assume to be a long experience as a gamer can link "gaming" to all console without, for one second, mentioning PC gaming is past me. Also, strategy game on console ? Seriously ?
To some people, console are to videogames what fastfood are to gastronomy. It's fine to have a fat & cheap burger on a regular basis, but reduce any topic on food to that burger is an insult to humanity's history in cooking. And no, I am not saying I can't speak at lenght about Mc Do vs Burger King vs 7in Burger. I can, I did, but that's not the ONLY thing I mention when speaking about food.
Now why the rant ? Because basically every tasteless person is making the world a worse place for the others. You want free market to define the offer, fine, but grumpy spoiled elitist rant comes in the package :P
I am a PC Gamer, so I look down on all of you.
I loved the second panel there. Naturally though, as a PC gamer I look down on both of you.
EVERY panel had me cracking up!
As a non-gamer I look down on each and every one of your pathetic lives.
Now get off of that couch in your grandma's basement and do some yard work for crying out loud!
p.s.
when I heard about Steve Job's death, I immediately thought about Scott's comic, now who will make everything better?
Kudos on giving Steve Jobs his tribute while he was still breathing. His death came too soon.
In his honor, I will now play some Minecraft--on a Mac. Where the hell are those ^%$^%$# diamonds?
"I am a PC Gamer, so I look down on all of you."
I'm a Mac Gamer, so I look down upon even you.

Some "videogame elitist" you are, if you see gaming as a dichotomy between PS3 and XBox 360, with Wii as the outlier third way. PC gaming supremacy, contards go home.
You should be nicer to your Mom. She probably bought you that first Atari 2600.
Ah, see, I'm one of those people who doesn't have a 360 because a majority of the games for it aren't the type I like. There are a few games I'd like to play on it, but not enough for me to want to buy a new console.
I know this guy, though, who's such an XBox fanboy. Hates Kingdom Hearts. Since he's never owned a Playstation of any kind, I don't know why. Also called "God of War" a "garbage game." I asked if he'd even played it. He hasn't, but he's seen someone play it. And it was linear. This was apparently enough to condemn it.
Also, yeah, nice timing on that other comic.
So; Windows Solitaire deathmatch, anyone?
Aw man, Soul of Wit beat me to mentioning Minecraft. Although, I admittedly refuse to by a mac. I'm barely holding on to my iPod at this point. Still, I will miss Steve (not the Minecraft one) and his ability to rock the turtleneck.
Though I am a PC gamer, I would like to add my two cents that you CAN play a decent RTS on a console. On the PS2 I had Grim Grimoire. Those of you who are anti-Japanese might not like it and those who think they're too hardcore might find it a little simplistic(though not worse than some PC RTS's I've played) but it's a pretty decent RTS with an entertaining story and cute characters. Just don't take it seriously.
I like Angry Birds for Android.
<small>I know my place.<\small>
I have a PS3 that I mostly use to play videos for my daughter. I don't look down on anyone, but I do look longingly at my collection of games that don't get played. Not sure where that puts me on the video game ladder. Maybe just holding it steady for some of you?
I have a Play Station Portatil PSP some people say that it is not even a "real" video game, i guees i am at the bottom place of the food/video games chain.
I still keep an Atari ST on hand to play Ogre and Stellar Crusade.
Ahh... Minecraft. Two of my sons got me hooked on it, and now we play on our own server. Why oh why did it have to be written in Java? Any language that depends on a garbage collector for memory management is immoral! Maybe, to memorialize the passing of Dennis Ritchie, someone will port it to C?
I buy them all. In fact, I get in line at 4:00am at the local GameStop three months before the newest console comes out so I can guarantee myself a spot on the pre-order list and *enjoy my console the day it comes out.
* In this case, "enjoy" means bragging about owning a hard-to-acquire item, while downloading weekly OS patches and impatiently waiting 6 months for a game to be released that's worth playing.
