How to Explain Why You haven't Put Someone in Your Comic Strip

Yes, the copyright date does say "2010." Publication of this comic was delayed because my brother dragged his feet getting the release signed and in the mail. It's almost as if he knew.

This one brought on tears accompanied by cramps.
I can think of a few commentators who should end up in this comic...doesn't commenting constitute a release? I'm pretty sure it's part of the EULA.
Gotta say I love the foreshadowing in panel two,"Yes ... good," I could just feel the evil wheels spinning in your head. Nicely done!
You might want to massage the drawing of the smiling moustache -- I'm not the only one who at first and second glance thought he was smiling past his goatee. Just a mite too much black border, I think. It's more obviously the curly part of his moustache when on his serious face.
Also, kudos to your brother for having a curly moustache. (And on panel 3.)
Okay, so a few days on, how did he react? :)
I have a feeling the reaction will be just as funny as the actual comic (i.e. extremely funny)
Note from Scott: if you're referring to my brother, radio silence. Either I've really made him mad, or he hasn't found out yet. Either way, I want to give him some time.
That reminds me - when are you going to bring back that used car salesman character? You know, the one with the tie? He was very handsome.
As for all the other people who read Basic Instructions who haven't been in the comic strip, perhaps you should hold 'Comic Idol' with the winner appearing in a Basic Instructions. Auditions would be held to highlight reader skills such as 'ability to buy large quantiies of books and t-shirts in the Basic Instructions online store' and 'willingness to repeatedly make Donations in the Basic Instructions online store'. Finalists would then compete by submitting an essay on the topic "What Quid Pro Quo Means To Me", with the winner objectively determined by voting via of online store purchases and donations.
Any news from your brother?
Note from Scott: A long time went by with no word. Turns out he was waiting for me to tell him I'd used him in a comic. Once he finally saw it, he liked it.
You made your brother sign a release?
Panel 1 was so f*ckin funny!
i like how all you can read in the example panel is "hideous perversion." that is funny.
