Among my people, it's tradition to yell "MY Africa!" if at any point you capture Africa. It's from some anthropology book or something called My Africa, a phrase that of course takes on a subtly different meaning when you actually own continental Africa.
So anyway. Do you spend the entire game with your hands in the "steeple" position to unnerve your opponents? It's got to be hard to roll the dice, but it could work. . .
I have found that taking Australia as your home base is more effective than taking South America. Since Australia can only be attacked via one route and it gives you easy access to Asia.
