How to Discipline Your Employees (rerun)

This comic is a rerun. There will be a couple more spread out over the next few weeks. I'm trying to build my comic-buffer back up. Sorry for any inconvenience.

As always, thanks for using my Amazon Affiliate links (USUKCanada).

Can you just repost my comment from last April to go along with this rerun?

Obviously, nobody likes having their cheese moved...

So, you're posting re-runs so that you don't have to post re-runs later?

Undeniable logic. Great re-run though!

September 10, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterTheMortallyWounded

So, wait... can you earn the same badge more than once? Are there consequences for attempting such a feat? Because if not, I'd just go for the same 24 badges over, and over, and over...

I love reruns! Odds are I may never have seen this comic ever again, but it's still salient, funny, and now even carries a bit of nostalgia!

Take another look at Scott's sash.

Reruns? How about a terrified silent scream Scott one?

September 11, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterK7

These re-runs really *are* inconvenient. My users expect fresh comics! How many times are they going to buy the line that my comedy lab was raided?

September 11, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterBabyDoc

Good catch, Chris S,! Our Scott is a true achiever!

September 11, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterInfogleaner

I love that you managed to collect your 24 badges in the space of one week.

September 11, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterDavid

A re-run? That I haven't seen? Mr Mxyyzptlk on a crutch! I'm going to have to go back through the whole archive to make sure I haven't missed any others...

The upside of rerun comics - you notice all kinds of little details that had totally escaped you before. Like Scott having 24 badges.

The strip is a re-run and so is all the whinging about the strip being a re-run.

For those of us who weren't here in 2009 - brilliant. So many managers seem to think that negative reinforcement is the way to lead and then wonder why their teams are dispirited and apathetic. It's like that very old meme "Doing good work here is like peeing in dark pants. It gives you a warm feeling but no one else notices."

Does Missy give demerit badges for running out of backlog?

How did you manage to get 96% fired in a week, then hold on to that last 4% for at least 2 more years?? Must be I missed (or dont remember) the one where Mullet Boss asked you to hire your replacement self

September 11, 2013 | Unregistered Commenterirrogical

Mullet Boss is becoming my favorite character in this Comic, just like Monty Burns is in The Simpsons and Disney's Uncle Scrooge in their Universe. I guess having an economically potent, erratic-minded boss type character with play-along underlings is good for "storylines".

Badges? We don't need no stinking badges!

How was that line not used?!

September 11, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterChris

It was new to me.

As a former HR person, I can only reinforce the accuracy of this particular comic. As a person with a sense of humour, I can only reinforce how much I enjoy Scott's work, period.

And did anyone else think of the "Badge of Shame", here?

September 11, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterLorna

Why stop at 25? There's obviously plenty of room for more badges.

September 11, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterMatthew

@Irrogical Roger: Scott's at 160% fired.

September 11, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterScottLooksJustLikeMe

Is this what the motivational speakers mean by "Come to work each day willing to be fired"?

September 11, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterBob Johnson

This is simply brilliant. Well done.

September 11, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterAdam S.

What you missed was the joyous time before accumulating 24 badges. Freedom is looking your boss in the eye and saying: "Don't like it? Well whatcha gonna do, give me another stinking badge?"

September 12, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterAvery Greynold

A rerun?

I don't remember it at all.

I'm happy.

What I'm wondering is how Scott and the other guy managed to get the exact same badges in the same order up to a certain point, and other guy started being good. Vacation?
