Magic glasses! There invisible in panel 1!
They're not invisible. He's holding them in the hand that you can't see.
Unoffered apology. Genius.
This is one of the best ones in quite a while.
and speaking of nitpicking...
There != They're
This doesn't sound like an exaggerated account of an argument for the sake of a joke. It also doesn't sound like a word for word account of an argument that was inherently funny. It just sounds like a word for word account of an argument that pissed the author off.
I know because I've had exactly this argument damn near word for word with a lot of people, and it always pisses me off.
I... want to believe that I was the rational guy, though. Hopefully.
Well spotted, Nitpicky (er, shouldn't it be Nit-picky? Just sayin')
@ Nitpicky N2 - the glasses are in the hand you can't see - plus love the irony in your comment.
Panel 1: too*
Context: "because it's my job to (tell him)." ~Missy
Dear Nitpicky N2 I hope that the grammar in your second sentence was intentionally ambiguous. I went to correct you, and did a massive double take. I enjoyed it almost as much as Scott's hilarity.
This strip is genius, I love every panel! Best one in a while.
And in panel 4 too
Great strip as always, on a side note, I read this strip both here and on GoComics, but I notice that site hasnt updated all week, didn't know if you were aware.
Scott:
Please note that GoComics.com has not ran any of your comics since July 9th. I do not know what is going on with them, but though you should know.
PipeTobacco
Scott, any idea why GoComics hasn't updated your strip in over a week?
Note from Scott: My money's on human error. In this case, I'm the human. Sorry.
When you quit your day job, how will you get new material for comics like this one?
Maybe I'm naive, but I don't think that "Sure I don't do my job, but why did you tell the boss that?" islmeantlto be a realistic conversation. Unless you have a really good union, and I know you don't.
This may be the first advice I don't fully agree on (reading backwards through the archives). Apologizing for other stuff than the percieved slight would just make me more angry if I were in the place of that guy. But then I have never been irrationally angry without the other guy making me realize my momentary irrationality, so maybe I'm the wrong target here.
