I understand. Just yesterday I was telling my mother and grandmother about my fear that a scorpion will sting me in the foot, and they laughed. Note that I live in the Pacific Northwest.
Hope all is going well, Scott. Some of are now addicted to your comics so when the supply gets scarce and we start suffering withdrawals, you will understand our crankiness.
Look for panel 3 in the desktop pictures offered by Scott. It's stunning, in color, on a big monitor. It's even available for widescreen 16:10 monitors. Is it wrong that Scott's terror tickles me so?
after i started sharing basic instructions webcomics with acquaintances, i found two people who are afraid of birds but didn't really know how to talk about it
"...if I am with an eagle I always pretend that I am not with an eagle; and so on down to swallows at twilight who scare the hell out of me. But pigeons have absolutely no effect on me. They have absolutely no effect on anybody. They couldn't even startle a child."
Not sure if you are aware of this or not, but your comic *IS NOT* showing up on gocomics.com today like it normally would. I presume it may be due to the "lateness" you mention above, but just in case that is not it, I thought you may want to know about this.
I was searching the archives the other day for this particular strip for the expression in panel 3, and for some reason, couldn't find it. Now, here it is. Thank you Scott! This makes my day!
You have my complete sympathies. A traumatic experience including a seagull and a stack of crates has left me with quite a bothersome fear of and disgust towards practically all things avian.
It's been said many times already, but the expression in panel 3 is absolutely fabulous. Definitely want to see it again in a comic :-) I'm sure you'll think of a very creative way to use it!
I would just like to point out that I nearly busted up laughing at the opera last night because of you, Scott. One of the performers looked like you (as near as I can tell... having only seen a comic representation of you), and when he made a face akin to yours in panel 3, I nearly lost it.

I still love that expression in panel 3. Classic.
For all who fail to realize the true threat birds present to humanity, I enter Birdemic: Shock and Terror as exhibit A.
It may be a rerun, but your expression in panel 3 is still hilarious!
Panel 3 is glorious. Especially since you're silent in it.

THE COPYRIGHT SAYS 2008 BUT IT'S ACTUALLY 2012 NOW!!!

I got to panel three and snorted beer through my nose. Thanks.
Panel 3 expression for the win.
That needs to be on a t-shirt, or a mug, or sticker, or something.
Seriously.
I would buy that stuff.
You should use the face in panal three more often. :)

I know it's been said, but: Panel 3!
Oh good God. Scott-face-panel-three nearly knocked me over. I love that face. Bahaha.
You have my complete sympathies.

yes, we are defeating them with our tools, but now he have given the birds "motivation"

Aah! Aah! Bird! Bird!
Kill it! It's evil!
It flew off! Good! ... for him.
All right, back to thinking.

As a bonus, panel three expression can be re-used when you do the gay fantasy strip......
The expression in the third panel is certainly an awesome reason for the internet to exist.
