I love you Scott. I love Missy too. But since you two are taken, I'm prepared to love Rick. I live in Seattle, am beautiful, and have a good job. Rick?
Actually, I wasn't surprised at all that you would abuse a friend like that. I think good-natured abuse is one of the surest signs of a good friendship.
Yesss!!!! It's the smoking jacket. But where's the fez hat??? And what's that creepy looking thing next to you in panel 1? It looks kind of like a dead body. Is that Rick's sense of optimism?
There's something different about this strip... Did the art-style change slightly? Are those new drawings? Or is it merely caused by the characters occupying more space in the panels than they normally do?
Searching the site for "EP1" finds nothing, searching for "rick" only finds the current strip. Therefore we can assume (knowing Scott is a sci-fi geek like us) that starting with EP2 is a bizarre tribute to George Lucas, who started the original Star Wars trilogy with Episode IV. /nerd detective
Here all along I thought the awesomely fatalistic things Rick was always saying were just some ironically-pessimistic side of you, Scott. Turns out Rick rocks, too. No wonder you're friends.
Dear Scott Meyer. Get a really long pipe, y'know, the kind you can hold out about a foot away from your mouth. My father looks -exactly- like you, and I wish to know what he would look like if he owned a fez and lengthy pipe (also, what I'll probably look like in... 20 years? You're 40ish, right?)

I didn't expect a new comic due to thinking you were currently getting your tonsils gouged. I got the date wrong, it seems. Hurrah for new comics!
nice
"When all you ever get is nailed, everything looks like a hammer." That is pure gold, Rick, pure gold. Shine on, you crazy, incontinent monkey!
It's like looking into my own future.
Advice for Rick: you can be successful at incontinence. Win-win.
Nice! Is there a Episode 1?
Panel 2 Scott is prime infinishirt material.
Where's episode 1?
Wait! Where's Episode 1? How did I miss that? Did I read it and not remember it? What kind of fan am I???
Pure awesome.
Ha, I like that Panel 2 Scott is looking at us, the audience. As if to say "this is what I put up with on a semi-regular basis."

I kinda like the strong, silent Scott. Like Rocket Hat without the hat.
friend's like these?
I cannot understand the second episode without reading first episode so please provide me first episode. I am very excited about first episode.
Oooh, the first "Basic Instructions" without any basic instructions at all!

Panel 1 is artistic genius. Basic Instructions in 3D. I love it.
The return of smoking-jacket-steeple-fingered Scott! I love it!
Some people, their jokes just write themselves, eh?
(Panel 3 made me thing of Dr. Horrible for some reason. Could I be -that- much of a geek?)

Still a good strip, like always.
Let Rick know that he will be successful at dying. :-)
"...like incontinence."
This is true. Now that I'm 45, fewer people point out how often I have to pee.
The branding is perfect.

Your facial expressions in response to Rick's speeches are just perfect.
I loved the look on panel 2.... it just stare at me and say:
" Do you see what I mean! "
lol
Great as usual!
Panel 2 is me :|
The Scott face in panel 2 is pure gold. I was waiting an embedded wah-wah-wah to happen.

has anyone else noticed a link to this strip to the top left of the comic? has it been there before?
Wow...and I though I was the only one who was incorrigibly depressed. Guess I was wrong again.
You're on a roll, comic-maker man.
(this may have been said already) Wouldnt it be hilarious if this Rick that Scotts friends with turned out to be Rick Moranis?
I have found Episode 1!

I read both episode and according to me second episode is better than first episode.
