Your head is really tiny in panel 2.

I'm thinking "No Sugar Tonight".

I was expecting some crack about "The Who" in that last panel. Love this comic, first time posting :)

What happened to your artwork? It's all grainy and pixelated!

Note from Scott: it was a rendering issue. it has now been fixed.

You don't have to defend your taste to me. The Guess Who rocks!

April 18, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJocko

I'm totally using that last panel from now on when talking about a band I don't like.

I understand you completely. I tend to be a bit "Impact oriented" when I criticize music or food, and a bit hyperbolic when I like something. Like calling Chayotes "Satan's testicles" and Therion "Pimps of awesome". My reviews are not sought after.

Would have been awesome he had the inexplicable love for the Guess Who, while she had an inexplicable love for Bachman Turner Overdrive.

Too much out of character?

BTW, nice work Canada. Nothing will make up for Celine Dion, but Guess Who was a good effort.

I prefer Duran Duran.

Am I a bad person?

April 18, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAdam

I would call the Guess Who a late '60s band, since all the hits were in '69 and '70, and we all know the '60s lasted until about 1973, but that's a small thing.

I was driving through Winnipeg about ten years ago, and guess who I heard as a guest disk jockey on the radio? Burton Cummings! I never get tired of that joke. It's funny because it's true.

Yes you are

April 18, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJames

I love both these bands!

April 18, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterKnastymike

I prefer metal myself. Iron Maiden, Helloween, Hammerfall, Sabaton, Manowar, Iced Earth, Freedom Call, Keldian, Strident, etc. Also love my some symphonic stuff, as evidenced in that list.

Now you're just dancing on the valentine.

April 18, 2011 | Unregistered Commenternorbizness

To Adam, yes, you are indeed a bad person. And to Cliff_Mystic, I agree that Arctic Monkeys are indeed awesome (although not as awesome as The Black Keys or even lesser bands like The Guess Who).

April 18, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJames

@adam, no, you're not a bad person, but Guess Who is slightly better.

April 18, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterLadyAime

I have now queued up all my Guess Who and Duran Duran for this morning's listening pleasure.

THE GUESS WHO
"No Time"

(No time left for you) On my way to better things
(No time left for you) I found myself some wings
(No time left for you) Distant roads are callin' me
(No time left for you) Da-un-da-un-da-un-da-un-da

No time for a summer friend
No time for the love you send
Seasons change and so did I
You need not wonder why
You need not wonder why
There's no time left for you
No time left for you

(No time left for you) On my way to better things
(No time left for you) I found myself some wings
(No time left for you) Distant roads are callin' me
(No time left for you) Day-un-day-un-day-un-day-un-day

No time for a gentle rain
No time for my watch and chain
No time for revolving doors
No time for the killin' floor
No time for the killin' floor
There's no time left for you
No time left for you

No time for a summer friend
No time for the love you send
Seasons change and so did I
You need not wonder why
You need not wonder why
There's no time left for you
No time left for you

No time, no time, no time, no time
No time, no time, no time, no time
I got, got, got, got no time
I got, got, got, got no time
I got, got, got, got no time
No-no-no, no-no-no, no time
No-no-no, no-no-no, no time
I got, got, got, got no time
No-no-no, no-no-no, no-no-no,
no-no-no, no-no-no, no-no-no, no time
I got no time, got no time, got no time, got no time, got no time

I grew up in Winnipeg just as the Guess Who were breaking out - yes, an awesome band, and Randy Bachman's BTO was great as well. Favorite song "Undun" - amazing. If you like them, Randy has his own radio show, with great rock history around a themed show ("harmony bands", "emergency songs" etc.) on CBC radio [CBC.ca] which you can get by podcast, or live on the net. Scott, I have to agree with your taste wholeheartedly, and your strip just gets better all the time.

April 18, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterDougall

Not looking to be a big defender of Duran Duran, but there are most definitely worse bands out there. Take all the boy bands for example. My advice to Missy would be to buy a copy of "The best of David Hasselhoff" and pipe that into your headphones when you say you prefer all other bands to DD. This is of course only possible because marriages are not covered under the Geneva Convention.

@ Adam. Yes.

First time post. I actually started reading two weeks ago, but I took My sweet time going through the archive, reading every sngle one.
His head is small in panel two because we weren't complimenting him enough on friday.

Adam:

Yes

April 18, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJaymz

Haha! Such a perfect contrast between the female preferred, group of four fellows, sort of caterwauling around and preening themselves for videos and the male preferred, true rock musicians. I agree with you completely, Scott.

Also, I haven't said this before, but I really enjoy your drawing skills. The drawings you do of people may appear simple and straightforward... but I think you are exceptional in being able to so successfully show a very wide range of emotions in the faces of all your characters.
