Athena, all I ever want to do is please her My life has been so settled and she's the reason Just one word from her and my troubles are long gone But I think I'll get along She's just a girl - she's a bomb She's just a girl - she's a bomb
At panel 2 I thought the best line would be "he's a professional - he works dumb" (How can the same guy work in so many offices?), but the Sarlaac pit in panel 4 was a pleasant surprise. Obviously she read "A Barve Like That: The Tale of Boba Fett" by J.D. Montgomery in Tales From Jabba's Palace. Does knowing this ensure I'll be blacklisted forever of always posted?
Thanks to others' comments now and in the near future, as of 3 Dec 2010, 1:22:05 eastern standard time (UTC -5), this user thinks that the last of Athena has not yet been seen.
Note from Scott: Correct! This is, unless I'm mistaken, Athena's first appearance.
I'm guessing that Athena's fatal flaw (the one that will keep her from finding a job in which she can use all that intelligence and perception in a productive way) is that she lacks the (required for females) skill to appear dumb, helpless, and admiring, while simultaneously getting a double workload done and manipulating the management) I've seen it done. I've watched in awe. I've learned nothing of the Mystic Arts of the Manipulative Bitch. (not for lack of trying - I guess some girls just have it)
Your sense of humor, hair-and-beard style and obsession with comic books/star wars reminds me of Junot Diaz. You really should read 'The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao" when you get a chance...

A cute heterosexual woman who uses Star Wars references . . . I'll suavely pepper my conversation with SW quotes to impress her.
"YOU TAKE THAT BACK!"
Clearly with her Star Wars referencing, she WILL fit in just fine.
"Truly thou art the Greek goddess of war, civilization, wisdom, strength, strategy, crafts, justice and skill."
Wow. I love panel 3. The utter ambiguity as to which of the two she's talking to is hard to pull off, but is absolutely priceless.
And the double (at least) meanings of the last panel are pure genius.
Another one out of the park, Scott!
I love it, we must work in the same office!
For the readers' sakes, I hope Athena sticks around.

"YOU TAKE THAT BACK" - I've had that reaction too... Unfortunately, by then it's too late. :)

Graham is single? It hasn't even been five to seven years and he already sprung divorce on his poor bride! Tragedy.
Scott, you're on fire this week. Great stuff! Thanks for it!

Panel 3 totally nails it for me.
Also, I find myself rather proud that I got the Star Wars joke.
Awesome :D Really good.
You out-did yourself with the artwork this time! Not that you don't always!
Awesome one
And wasn't that guy just getting married?
I too wonder what happened to Graham's wedding, with his poetic vows. Or maybe I just answered myself.
She really should have known better than to use a SW reference in such a place....
Maybe that guy let his wife-to-be read his wedding vows and backed out!

"Does'll"?
Ladies and gentlemen, I believe we have a new contraction.
Well done.
I almost missed this one, and was about to write and request that you introduce a new character, to
keep the strip dynamic.
Isn't it fun when you get what you wish for?
