I think sperm oil, in the context that first comes to mind, would be a very effective source of fuel. Tissue demands would go down though... a lot.

Petrol is going to become cost-prohibitive long before the Earth runs out of oil. There will be revolts, not just over the prices, but the subsidies oil companies get. These same companies whined about Obama's subsidies toward alternative fuels instead of shutting the hell up and getting in on the act themselves. It's because of this lack of foresight that Big Oil is going to go the way of Big Tobacco -- a persecuted industry with pathetically hobbled political clout.
