I heartily disagree, aliens must exist. For the simple fact that the universe is endless. Endless possibilities, endless chances that life can be created. Just because we do not know of the aliens, and it seems they do not know of us, doesn't mean they don't exist.
Despite what one may think they are, in my experience there are no good aliens and they should all be killed repeatedly. Chainsaws are a nice touch, especially at the higher rpms.
Ramses: You can't say it's a fact that the Universe is endless. Especially since most of the time we refer to the Universe and mean the visible universe, of which we know the size. We also have extrapolated a date at which the Universe originated, and so it is unlikely that it would be infinite in size if it is not also infinitely old, which we're almost sure it is not.
That being said, practically any scientist will agree that sheer statistics would assure that there is other life out there, even if we limit the numbers to the visible Universe (which science must, because science is only based on what can be observed.)
Also, I personally don't think any aliens we meet would be much more hostile than humans. If they make it to Earth, they're more advanced than us technologically. That would suggest they've been around longer, and that means they'd have had many more chances to completely destroy themselves in a nuclear holocaust or worse. So if they're more aggressive, then they'd probably be dead before they got here. If they're just as aggressive, that can only mean we have a chance of getting to the same point as they have gotten (although they might still enslave us.) If they're less aggressive, then they might even be friendly.
L G: The Universe can't be endless because it had a beginning. It is just really big and currently C takes so long to get from point to point. But if you do some research, you will find that C is in fact slowing down. So, the Universe is not as big as most would say, nor as old.
The end conclusion of Project Bluebook was that aliens and their craft were in fact not nuts and bolts crafts from other worlds, but they are objects that pop into our existence from another dimension.
Erm...Sisyphus, I'm pretty sure the end conclusion of Project Bluebook was "most UFO sightings have mundane explanations, only a small number remain unexplained, and even those cannot be ascribed to airborne vehicles of technology beyond human capability."
It speaks volumes about you lot, that you turn this into a discussion about the science and statistics of the possible existence of alien life. I refer you to the title of this particular episode.
The children are our future. Think of the children.

thats true..aliens do not exist. otherwise we would have all been dead
Dead from the exhaustion of chainsawing aliens, no doubt.
That alien's lines would have made Gears of War ten times better.

"I have podlings" so infinitely sad and amusing at the same time :-)
do the other me's (mes?) from the other worlds in the (hypothetical) multiverse count as aliens?
