How to Contemplate Your Past Decisions (rerun)

Just in case there was any confusion, the previous comic, in which I announced that I would soon publish my last comic, was not, in fact, my last comic. The final Basic Instructions of the run is scheduled to post on Monday, August 24th. Thanks.

As always, thanks for using my Amazon Affiliate links (USUKCanada).

Is this the last one? I was hoping for some sort of cataclysmic ending..... Guess I'll settle for a rerun of one of my favourites....

August 24th, hm? That means one more month left, more or less. Looking forward to the final stretch.

I think many professional jobs are like being a butler. You get to work in some modern (or recently renovated) building with big windows, some one else pays the rent and A/C, you get to act snobby to anyone who doesn't get "it", and there is always someone to be bossy to if your into that kind of thing.

I understand that there is a scarcity value to butlers nowadays which means they can command stoning salaries.

It may be a way to GET wealthy, at other people's expense.

Who's running the pool on how long it takes Scott to break down and post a new BI after the final BI? I want to put $5 down on the week of Thanksgiving.

When today's comic started at the top of panel 1 with "Every now and then, we all feel we all feel as if we have taken a wrong turn at some point", I had an immediate surge of epinephrine.... hoping that it was an announcement that you had reconsidered stopping new "Basic Instructions" comics.

Unfortunately, I quickly realized it was only a pipe dream, because I remembered that the Friday comics are reruns.

Well, I guess I can take solace in the announcement that your last day is not until August 24th. I guess I will then be able to wait another few weeks before I will need to cry in my beer.

Please do not get me wrong. I can wholly understand your need and decision to end "BI". I just wish it were not so.

The best way to become wealthy as a butler might be being the butler of a very old person. If you do your job very well, that old geez- uh, your revered Master MAY mention you in his last will...

I would not have expected a philosophical discussion with Mullet Boss to go so well. Or should that be M'let Boss?

Or to get access to an aging wealthy person who hasn't lost their penmanship for signing cheques at least.

Patrick Dennis, the man who wrote "Auntie Mame", managed to piss away all his money on alcohol and riotous living. He had written under a pseudonym, so he started his second career - as a butler - under his real name. He was quite successful, and none of his employers ever knew who he had been until after he died.

OK, I know that a lot of people have already brought up the copyright thing driving some people nuts during BI's upcoming rerun. But is every single strip title going to be listed as "(rerun)"? Just wondering...
