Hilarious! Mmasterpiece. Also, I think I'm gonna try that rubbing my face.
Now it looks exactly like my portrait:)
Now, I know what I should do when I want to avoid my boss ..LOL..
I read the "By shunning me but good" line as essentially being "They reacted well, apart from shunning me". Perhaps a comma was missed out (i.e. By shunning me, but good).
Normally shunning is a bad thing. But he didn't want to talk to them. So it was good. A comma would have been appropriate. "By shunning me, but good." Means they avoided him, and he liked it.
I immensely enjoy this comment, and I am so doing this when I want to be left alone. Or looked at like I'm crazy.
Ah, all caught up on my Basic Instructions. That cheered me up but good!
(I can't believe how many people didn't understand that...)
AC, the good would not be stretched in this sentence. Actually the "but good" is added pretty fast and without delay after the "me".
I'm not an American and I read it fine, I think even old cartoons used it: Hot Diggity they suckered me but good!
particularly funny because i just found great joy in figuring out how to run Pandora on my phone. also, wonder which Crazy European Shaving Gizmo Scott used to achieve such smooooooothness?
So, about the whole shaving. What advice do you have about head shaving for a n00b? I went to a hairstylist for a shave, and she only cut it really really short. I want to finish the job (so I can be just like you! I got the beard and everything!) I own an electric razor, but no regular razors. I'm not really good with the regular ones. I also own a lifetime's supply of shaving cream.
(Reply: Back when I shaved my head I'd use disposable multi-blade razors, and I suggest doing it in the shower.
That said, I now just take electric clippers to my head once a week, and while I never really get down to bare scalp, I get close enough, and it's MUCH less effort.)
I've been reading you for a while and I have always enjoyed. I have to say though, for some reason this panel helped me realize in quasi-zen fashion (like a whack on the side of the head) you write the best comic on the web. Thanks for the smoooothness.
haha! loved it. And funny enough, I did once have a female co-worker ask me to feel her leg for the exact same reason. I was like "uh....what? I'm slightly uncomfortable". lol.
The only time I feel that way is if I have a goatee for a few weeks, then shave it...and it feels weirdly-smooth. Hard to stop rubbing your chin, hahah.
I thought it was only my husband that was excited about being smooooooth! Twice a week he does a really good shave and rubs his face against mine to show me just how smooth he is :-D
I just found this strip and I have to say that it's quite possibly one of the most awesome strips EVER. This particular one is pure gold. Still giggling like a fool!
Shunning me but good means that his co workers shunned him, but he was happy about that b/c he didn't have to deal with them! They shunned him (which is not nice) but good (because that's even better than having to deal with them). Basically he's saying "They shunned me, but that's ok because I didn't want to talk to them anyway." Get it? It's alllll good.
Scott, you are a genious. A genious.
Speaking on behalf of my very hirsute face, I also love getting a great shave. Especially when the girlfriend rubs the face.
