In Terry Pratchett's 'Men At Arms', he uses the exact same concept, but with boots, creating the Boots theory (being that good boots are $50, bad ones that wear through in a few months are $10, and you can spend $100 on bad boots before the good ones even begin to show wear).
Since I read it the same day as this....anyway.

That line would make the greatest T-shirt EVER.
You do realize that if you hold a ruler slightly diagonaly it will read a larger measurement not a smaller one.
