As good as the face is in the third panel, it's really the clawed left hand of sheer terror that pulls off the overall effect. A point I feel pressed to make only because I couldn't be the first one to mention the face thing.
If there ever comes a comic that combines both the visual guffaws of this third panel and the unexpectedly bold wit of "ROFG", I am quite sure the world will implode.
Nice . . . His face is kinda funny, but not as funny as Cookie Monster. Supposedly, snce he had to switch to vegtables in the Strret show, he joined an emo screamo band. He's singing "I want a cookie" but since it's emo screamo, you can barely tell. But his face is up there! . . .
This is silly. Some _small_ birds eat grapes and figs, but a large bird's beak wouldn't fit in your eye socket. Such birds would rather gnaw on your liver.
Dear God, no comic makes me laugh out loud harder than B.I. does. And Scott, the comments you attribute to your wife are priceless. "Awoken prematurely by cat or spouse? CHECK!" LOL gold, man. Panel 3 *is* awesome - I read the text balloon before letting my eyes scroll down to see your expression. Coffee-spewing, indeed!

For some reason, the guy's face in the third panel is my most favorite drawing you've done of him. He looks truly terrified.
Your expression in panel 3 is perfect.
Oh my god. The expression on your face in panel 3 just cracked me up. Awesome strip as always!
:O Exactly. Panel 3 is fantastic.
Another vote for "best expression ever in the strip" here. And the hand!
The expression on your face in panel #3 is priceless. I love it :)
I couldn't even focus on the rest of this comic because I started thinking about Big Bird's left arm and how, yes, it always HAS just hung there.
Er, right arm. Whatever.
Then won't the birds seek revenge?
I concur... In my mind I can hear the involuntary strangled squawk that goes with that face.
That third panel is absolutely priceless, can't stop laughing at Scott's horrified expression!
I agree with the rest of the agreers (is that a word?). Panel 3 is coffee-spewing perfect.
Hahah, God that third panel is great. Glad I'm not the only one to acknowledge it.
Whoa nelly, that look on you in the third panel is almost hair-raising!

I came to the comments for the first time to express my chortling joy at panel 3 only to find I'm not alone--or first.
!
PANEL 3!! baahahahaa woooh =p can't stop, laughing, hurts, to laugh, bye.

You can add me to the list of people who laughed out loud at the third panel.
I also loved that third panel... That's one that you'll definitely have to find a use for in future strips!

See?
How about an entire 4 panels all showing the same expression? :D
Panel 3 may be the best drawing ever.

Haha...I came in to post that panel 3 was priceless, but people have beat me to it.
The chair clutching really adds another dimension to it.
Great job, I bought your book and 4 copies for my friends :)
We need that expression as a wallpaper. Or a poster. Or a shirt.
WE NEED IN ON THE BILLBOARDS!!
Have to agree - panel 3 expression - Gold. Great cartoon, cracks me up.
I came to the comments just to see if everyone else laughed as hard as I did at panel #3... HILARIOUS!
Whoever said that your long joke setups need to be shortened was wrong... the first two panels set that third one up perfectly.
(Spoiler Alert!!) I would guess that big birds right arm just hangs there because the guy inside the bird is using his right arm to operate the head.
I have to say it like everyone else: third panel is full of awesome!
The expression in panel 3 is made 53% funnier by the simultaneous and nonchalant "I stand corrected."
Didn't Big Bird suffer a stroke or something? Shouldn't make fun of his condition.
I'm sure your favorite scary movie would be "The Birds"
I gotta join in with everybody else on this one... really well done with panel 3's facial expression.
I also laughed very hard at panel 3. However, I mostly found this comic funny because I am also terrified of birds.
I believe I do recall this conversation when I once expressed my dislike for birds as well.
Gotta say, good strip. Well-made. Panel 4 was actually what sold me, believe it or not. It reminds me of a similar experience with a friend of mine.

Horseshoe Crabs. One of God's little mistakes.
Yes, yes, it is ALL about panel #3!!! This comic could be about my irrational fear of butterflies!! (almost) no one understands ;_;

Fear sucks.
