I am re-launching Basic Instructions, and I am determined to do it right this time. A while back I came to a realization that of all the creative things I had done in the last 5 years, Basic Instructions had by far given me the most satisfaction. I have purchased a domain name, I am setting up a site, and I've already produced some new Basic Instructions strips, which will be posted as soon as the site is ready. I'm going to start with 2 a week, but I hope to increase the volume after some fine tuning. Until the new site is ready, I'm going to post a few strips from a submission I did for a mainstream, syndicated daily strip called "Guy." In the end I did 70 strips and submitted 50 of them. Now I am the owner of a matched collection of rejection letters, and that doesn't bug me one bit. The lessons I learned about art technique and scheduling doing "Guy" are what's making the re-launch of Basic Instructions possible Thanks for your time.
