How to Listen to Other People Talk About Their Vacation

Hey, if you’re looking for something to watch today, one possibility would be this video podcast ( … a “vodcast,” if you will) that I recorded yesterday with Scott Stantis, political cartoonist for the Chicago Tribune and creator of the syndicated comic strip Prickly City.

So, about that nonworking voodoo cast...
Shampooless Joe the Mullet Boss?
That's quite a title. I can see why he's so proud of his position.
fantasy baseball-fan camp, what a great idea.
Wait a second...2012 I'm fine with, but 2007!?!? ARE YOU CRAZY!?!?
Isn'tthis a re-run. Not that it's any less funny - in fact, I still laughed out loud - just sayin'
Don't think I've seen angry bossman before
I have to disagree with you on panel 2. The former boss of mine that was most like Mullet Joe couldn't possibly have taken enough vacation for my taste. Yes, it's better to be the person who is on vacation, but work was much much more pleasant with him gone.
Say it ain’t soap, Joe!
OK, so that was a cliff hanger - video got to 10:28 just where you, Scott were telling Scott about the email you received from Scott (...hmmm) and then it stopped. Any chance there is a fixed link?
On a completely unrelated note, perhaps Rik could write an autobiography explaining his lack of success and could title it: "I Am Not Scott."
Oh ok, so the link worked now.
So, you looked like I felt about the This Chinese Life - sounds like a barrel of laughs, right?
So did you get to run out onto the field naked and not get arrested?
Copyright 2007! Where is the 2013!
I still can't see the video. Is there another way to see it?
Scott posted earlier this week that there would be a few reruns, due to stuff going on in his live.
This was a good one!
I remember this one. It's still good.
@Superversive: Bravo on the soap joke.
I like the reruns every-so-often. It reminds me of some good comics w/o going through the archive.
I agree... I enjoy reruns. A good laugh is always worth a good repeat!
The only thing better than my own vacation is when my boss is on vacation.....
"5 weeks of paid vacation" made me think about Europe—where I live. I don't know why many Americans complain about socialism, I think it's great—at least when not exaggerating the ideology. I think that way too many people compare socialism with communism. I think 5 weeks of paid vacation a year should be a human right everywhere. It's a law where I live, but it doesn't apply to employees, which may choose to work elsewhere during their vacation period. I don't expect the US to be that generous, but there are many things it can change to actually give "freedom" to people of all economic classes. I've been to the US and I understand the ideology of freedom, but I also understand a government should also protect its people from abuse.
Anyway, that was my rant and many of you might disagree—and I respect differing opinions. But if there's one thing everybody will agree on is: this is one great comic (once again)! :-)
At my place of employ, you only get 5 weeks of paid vacation if you've been with the company for 25 years.....
Wait... there's a fantasy baseball camp? Why has nobody told me about this before?
Ah! Now I can read the comic in your voice. Just need to see interviews with "The Spiky-Haired One," Jenkins, Bossman and Rick, and then I can have all your voices in my head! Oh, rapture!
It's what you're used to, I guess, Randy. I thought the 30 days I had in the Marine Corps was plenty. I'd use another 5 days if I had it but I never felt like I had too little.
UK and USA separated by a common language.
"shagging fly balls"? what the.....?
@Dr Smeg: "Yeah, baby! Yeah!"
Nice interview. Whenever I hear a voice from someone I have only met through text, I am always surprised.
BTW, I am one of the many who came here when Scott Adams recommended it. I would not have stayed if I didn't enjoy the comic.
Panel 4 just plain got me. Well played, Scott, well played. *claps*
