I have been looking for the instruction where Rick first appeared in this dress, even before he became the moon emperor. I can't remember what it was about, but I do remember it being one of the funniest instructions in the list.
Aiden, that's the first thing I noticed too, it's just so alluring, that little c in the circle with 2013. Curse Scott for making me think liking it is a character flaw.
Doc Imperialism - it's an 'impressive robe', length was not specified, you see, ages ago, wait, you know what, the details are unimportant.
There is a story behind Rick's robe, Docimperialism.
Apparently, as Rocket Hat's arch-nemesis, Rick demanded that he de given a magnificent robe of great beautiousness and impressiveness - however, he foolishly failed to specify the length he wanted, so Scott managed to idiotify him again!
Rick 1 -- Scott, roughly 1,000,000,000, I think. (i can remember Rick scoring a point once, but I can't remember when of how)
Brendon, Rick has aged and changed the most in the years that this comic has been in existence. That he continues to be friends with Scott and has allowed his picture to be taken documenting his evolving appearance says nice things about their relationship.
P.S. Every time I see that "magnificent robe" or Scott's smoking jacket I crack up. I love a good running gag.
I'd like to see Scott and Rick take someone to the "gentleman's club" again. The last time was one of my favorites. Though, this comic today is good, very good, indeed.
@Brendon: The Emperor was created back when Scott was using the old pictures of Rick, but he only had a few poses to work with so he updated them while not changing the way the Emperor looks. That's why he always has the same three or four expressions.

I've never noticed that Evil-Rick's robe is actually a skirt. Heh.
Finally! The copyright date says 2013! ABOUT TIME, SCOTT!!! *meep*
I pretty much live for Rocket Hat.
I just now noticed the "Moon Men" symbol. I love it!

It's "How to Make It Up to a Friend You've Insulted in Your Comic". ~Missy
I love the moon emperor's line of reasoning in panel 2. By the way, the copyright should be 2014 now.

Why do normal rick and moon emperor look like two different people in terms of facial / head appearance?

Not sure if you know yet or not, but it appears your Friday comic has not posted on GoComics.com like it normally would.
Wonderfully funny as always, Scott!!!!

Normal Rick doesn't get his cranium (or other body parts) rearranged by Rocket Hat (see the pointy rockets!).
Even when not actually rearranged, there's the cringe of knowing that rearrangement by pointy-rocket awaits in a few short panels.
Think of it as a head-only cringe...
Doc Imperialism - It is the style made popular by that fashion-forward "Space Stud" know better as Zap Brannigan.
Ooh! Ooh! Have the motivational speaker get beat up by Rocket Hat!
The Titanians only hate the Moon because even though Titan is the larger moon, The Moon is called The Moon.

Scott, i was wondering... is Moon Emperor somewhat based in Emperor Ming?
